In 1971 Kenny Ranen was living in Telluride, climbing, and skiing. Then he was gone… For over three decades, no house, no address, no phone. Sailing the oceans of the world, and smuggling to pay the bills. Ranen’s Podcasts tell endless stories from the days when he was sailing ten to twenty thousand miles a year without GPS, and without a care, notwithstanding sharks, pirates, monsoon storms, medical emergencies at sea, and the Guardia Civil. In 2002 Ranen sold his last boat, Sara, and left the sea to live in his house in the Idaho Rocky Mountains. Currently, Ranen is editing the second memoir in the Smuggler's Guide series, "A Smuggler's Guide to Fine Dining, A Sailor's Hunger and the Ravenous Sea". Ranen's Smuggler’s Guide Series are detailed guidebooks on how to live a free life while sailing the oceans of the world.
