Kathleen Peterson Colbert

关于作者

Kathleen (Kate) Colbert has enjoyed a career dedicated to the written word. She has held posts in academia, in the magazine industry, and in marketing and advertising. Additionally, she has ghost written for acclaimed scientists, medical practitioners and CEOs. But poetry was, and will always be, her first love. Kate has been the recipient of six awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), including CASE's highest honor for medical/scientific/research writing. She speakers regularly at marketing and communications conferences, trains business professionals in all industries and functional areas to be more effective writers and speakers, and has owned and operated a marketing consultancy, Silver Tree Communications, since 2002. Her early experiences with the complexities and impersonal nature of traditional book publishing inspired her to launch a publishing venture, Silver Tree Publishing, in 2015, which serves the needs of individual and corporate authors. During her formal education, Kate was fortunate to work with acclaimed poets Lucia Cordell Getsi, Daniel Tobin, and Paulette Roeske, and with novelist David Foster Wallace; their lessons inspired her own craft. Kate holds a bachelor's degree from Carthage College, a master's of comparative literature from Illinois State University, and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. She currently lives in Kenosha, WI, with her husband and their beloved pack of dogs. Early works by Kate Colbert were published under the former names Kathleen Peterson and Kathy Peterson.
