Robert A Forde grew up in Belfast and London, but has since lived all over England. For ten years he lived in West Berlin, "five years before the Wall came down and five after". His novel "Berlin Rendezvous" came out of this experience. He has worked as an educational social worker, a prison psychologist, a journalist, and later as a forensic psychologist in private practice. He has met more psychopaths than most people ever do. His most recent novel, "The Psychopath's Checklist", was partly inspired by this work. He has been writing fiction for as long as he can remember, starting with a one-page story about a seagull at the age of five. Robert's first book, "Wise-Woman" was originally published the traditional way in paperback. It has since been republished on Kindle, and yes, he did get the rights back beforehand! His interest in ancient history continued with "The Dream of Macsen", but his third book, "The Devil's Issue", broke new ground for him, venturing into the horror genre. "Bad Psychology: how forensic psychology left the science behind" is a controversial examination of what psychologists in the criminal justice system do, and was written for non-psychologists as well as psychologists and lawyers. It arose out of his "day job", in which he spent 13 years arguing that much current forensic psychology practice was wrong, a stance recently proved correct when it emerged that UK sex offender programmes were making offenders MORE risky, not less. More recently, the same was found with serious violent offenders. Robert lives in the south-west of England and is married with two daughters and three grandsons. He is NOT the author of "A journey of Love and Hope" (another Robert Forde).
