Jo Allison is the award-winning author of the Julia Nye Mystery Series and related short stories. Allison drives family and librarians crazy with the depth of her research on the 1910s but delights readers who like their mysteries historical. There are five books in the series as of Fall 2017. The third book in the mystery series, Heaven Will Protect the Working Girl, was judged Best Self-Published Novel by the James River Writers (for Virginia) in 2016. The Greater St. Louis Area Sisters in Crime chapter in 2015 highlighted the first two books in the series, The Good Old Summertime and St. Louie Slow Drag. Allison's short short story (1200 words) that is the immediate prequel to the Julia Nye series took first place in the Virginia Writers Club Summer Shorts contest for 2015. That and other short stories are included in a supplement to the series, a book called In-Between Murders: Stories that LINK and ILLUMINATE the Novels of the Julia Nye Mystery Series.
