Scott Hughes is a Georgia writer who graduated from Mercer University and then received an MFA in creative writing from Georgia College & State University. His fiction, poetry, and essays have appeared in Deep Magic, Crazyhorse, One Sentence Poems, Entropy, Redivider, Strange Horizons, and Compaso: Journal of Comparative Research in Anthropology and Sociology. He is currently finishing a young adult novel, Red Twin. His horror short story collection The Last Book You'll Ever Read is available from Sinister Stoat Press/Weasel Press: “Nimble and poetic and downright freaky, The Last Book You’ll Ever Read startles, unsettles, and deeply delights. Scott Hughes has crafted one trip of a read.” —Andy Davidson, Bram Stoker Award Nominated Author of In the Valley of the Sun His poetry collection The Universe You Swallowed Whole is available from Finishing Line Press: “The ‘universe’ these poems inhabit offers us a delicate balance between poetry and anti-poetry, poems both familiar and strange, or strangely familiar. As the poems in this collection collide, something new appears, something both lyric and numeric, surreal and mundane, irreverent and serious. These poems will knock you for a loop—a Möbius loop!—and off your feet, dizzy, dazed, and bedazzled.” –Martin Lammon, Founding Editor of Arts & Letters Journal of Contemporary Culture His collection of speculative fiction, Horrors & Wonders, is available now: “Hughes’s horror is horrific. His fantasy is fantastic. But what makes him unique in a market of cordoned off, rigid genres is his ability to mix the creepy and the wondrous: you’re eager to step through the portal into this new world, but you’ll quickly wish it hadn’t closed off behind you.” –Jonathan W.
