John Sherry has been illustrating knots and writing about knots for more than 30 years. His knot illustrations are used for training by the US Department of Defense, US Customs and Border Protection, municipal fire departments, scout troops, sailing schools, utility companies, arborist companies and many search and rescue organizations, not to mention countless fishermen/women. He is president of Pro-Knot, a company that publishes waterproof plastic knot cards for boaters, campers, survivalists, fishermen and anyone that finds themselves with a rope or line in hand. He has sold over one million of the popular knot card sets and has more 5-Star reviews (over 5,000!) on Amazon than any other knot book author. He has had knot tying related articles published in the magazines Western Outdoors and Knotting Matters and additionally, his 2018 book title "Knot It! - The Ultimate Guide to Mastering 100 Essential Outdoor and Fishing Knots has has received excellent reviews and has sold over 15,000 copies. Sherry is a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers and lives in Bend Oregon with his wife, where he enjoys fly fishing, hiking, camping and skiing. He is also an award winning pastel artist.
