Author of Unbroken Faith: Spiritual Recovery for the Special Needs Parent (Worthy, April 2018), Diane’s passion is to encourage struggling families with the timeless relevance of Scripture, applied to the gritty realities of life. In 2004, her first son was diagnosed with autism at age two and ADHD, which triggered profound personal, professional and spiritual crises. With the comfort she received from Christ, Diane began serving as a special needs ministry consultant in 2008, training and equipping local churches into becoming inclusive faith communities. She is honored to partner with the ministries of Joni and Friends as a national speaker and ministry ambassador: “Diane is a gifted speaker and writer. Her gift? She’s authentic. Diane shares a raw response to the pain she’s experienced. Her reflections are mixed with humor and sobriety, and she helps readers laugh at their own circumstances. She points you to the Word of God in hopes that you will experience heaven-sent comfort and compassion. She will help you grasp how God understands your pain and suffers with you. She reassures you of God’s goodness, reminding you that it’s okay to grieve, weep, doubt… and ask the hardest of questions.” ~ Joni Eareckson Tada, CEO Joni and Friends, International Disability Advocate, Speaker and Author Whether by a diagnosis, disillusionment, a death—or the death of a dream— everyone gets “crippled” by something. Everyone struggles to reconcile faith with disappointment, because no one is exempt from the jagged edges of a broken planet. Sin and brokenness may steal, kill, and destroy indiscriminately. But Jesus is an equal opportunity healer and Redeemer. Diane and her husband, Eddie, have served over twenty-five years in bi-vocational ministry. They live and serve in the heart of Silicon Valley with their two young sons. Connect with her at https://www.dianedokkokim.com where she blogs on being wrecked, redeemed and repurposed.
