Brenda Maier

Brenda Maier is an elementary school teacher, author, and mother of five. The Little Red Fort was inspired by the time her youngest child wanted to read Little Red Hen repeatedly, and her four other children were outside finding inspiration with some boards. That first book, The Little Red Fort, led to more stories with Ruby and her brothers. Brenda lives in Oklahoma where, when she's not teaching or doing school visits, she writes picture books and the Penguin and Panda graphic novels for young readers.
