Michael Aklin

Michaël Aklin is associate professor of political science and public policy at the University of Pittsburgh. Born in Switzerland, he studied and worked in his home country, the U.K., and Germany, before obtaining a Ph.D. from New York University. He conducts research on how countries deal with long-term challenges, such as environmental and financial crises. He has written extensively on these questions in two books, academic journals, and news outlets from around the world. At Pitt, he teaches classes on environmental politics, the politics of finance, and econometrics.
