Mike Stamm is a wildlife biologist and desert rat who grew up in Pennsylvania but began his career, 40 years ago, with the military in the west desert of Utah before going to work for the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) in northern Arizona. The final 17 years of Mike’s career were spent with the BLM, and the University of Nevada. Construction of wildlife water developments (guzzlers), reversal of pinyon/juniper encroachment of wildlife habitats and restoration of quaking aspen are among his most rewarding accomplishments. Now retired, he lives in southeastern Idaho where he mixes a bit of waterfowl and big game hunting with a lot of upland bird hunting. He also fishes, though his fishing skills are laughable, so don't expect a fishing book any time soon. An honest review of this book would be much appreciated by prospective readers and by the author.
