Wessam Elmeligi is Associate Professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Director of the Center for Arab American Studies. With a PhD in literary theory, he has published widely on comparative literature, literary theory and translation. His works cover narratology, visual narratives, psychoanalysis, and gender. He has written on Arabic, Persian, Africa-American, and English literature and culture. Elmeligi helped establish language, literature and translation programs in a number of institutions including most recently Macalester College in Minnesota, in the United States. He is also a graphic novelist and artist. He currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the United States.
