Amarpreet Kaur Dhami

Amarpreet Kaur Dhami (1981-2017) was a gifted writer, spiritual explorer, wife, and mother. Raised in the suburbs of Washington D.C., Amarpreet moved to New York in 2009. Amarpreet earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. She has been published in "The Praeger Handbook of Social Justice and Psychology", and worked to help victims of trafficking regain their lives. Upon the birth of her daughter in 2014, Amarpreet created the tale of "Ajooni the Kaurageous" to captivate her imagination and inspire her to become a strong woman. Amarpreet passed in August of 2017 at the age of 36 due to colon cancer. She is survived by her husband, daughter, and a large loving family.
