Cora Darrah

关于作者

Cora Darrah was an educator for over thirty years and enjoyed the challenge of working with children with special needs. After leaving the profession that she loved, Cora began to write about what she loves the most, her family and the children that she taught. Her first book, Here We Go Joe, was an Amazon Best Seller in its first week and dared to explore how Alzheimer's impacted her own family. She was able to use researched based interventions effective for students with autism to help her father in law make the hardest decision of his life. Since Joe’s passing, she has refocused on the young child she has spent a lifetime serving. Her next book, Seasons at the Bus Stop, focused on the importance of developing friendships, particularly with children that may struggle socially. Her second children's book highlights the importance of a healthy diet and active lifestyle for all children. Recently, Cora decided to take her skills as an educator and her love of studying women of the Bible and create a Bible Study that can impact women from all stages of their spiritual growth. Empty Hands, Experiencing God with a Broken Spirit, focuses on the struggles and victories of women of the Old Testament . The study is intended to empower women of today with the knowledge that God loves us dearly and has a purpose for us in his will. During Covid, Cora took a different path and wrote a contemporary novel about three women striving to discover themselves among the complex issues of today's world. Scattered Pieces is a book that most women can relate to as they seek their own inner peace. Cora is getting ready to launch a new book A Story of Durham: Told the Wright Way. This historical fiction is based on the life of her great descendent, Richard Harvey Wright. Richard was a very successful businessman and a founding father of Durham, North Carolina. Richard began his pursuit of success as a penniless orphan at the end of the Civil War. With nothing but a passion to succeed, Richard pushes forward through hardships and disappointments in order to build a massive estate. Cora is a native of Durham, North Carolina and has called this her home for the majority of her life. She lives with her husband and French bull dog. She is a mother of two girls and a grandmother of four. When Cora isn’t blogging or writing, she spends time outside in her vegetable garden, playing tennis or walking her dog Vern.
