Stuart Thomas KB1HQS

Stuart is licensed as an Amateur Radio Extra and has been licensed since 2001. He has written several articles for QST magazine and recently wrote the chapter "Portable and Mobile Operation” for the 2016 ARRL Operating Manual for Radio Amateurs. His interests in the hobby includes QRP, portable radio operating and building antennas. In 2016, he was the top operator with over 500 activations in the National Parks on the Air (NPOTA) year long event. Stuart also enjoys helping mentoring operators new to the hobby and teaching others outdoor skills. Like many in the amateur radio community, he hosts a website: kb1hqs.com and YouTube channel: KB1QHS, where he shares videos of his radio adventures and reviews amateur radio equipment.
