JB Strand

JB Strand grew up in a small town in the Midwest. Now he lives in high-tech Seattle. He's studied physics, he's studied philosophy. He's made a living as a writer for many years, but Ablation Cascade is his first work of fiction. Strand conceived the book over a decade ago when thinking about the problems posed by orbiting space debris. The story allowed him to explore issues of culture and technology by asking a simple question: How does something become junk? Stated another way, how is value lost from the things we cherish?
