Jamille Rogers Thomas

Jamille Rogers Thomas has a passion for using children’s books to propel elementary students towards their hopes and dreams. As a former classroom teacher, she utilized a variety of strategies to help her students develop a love for reading. Over the years she has focused primarily on using literacy to engage young males. In 2016, she was recognized by the American Library Association for her efforts in the Conway Public School District. She has had an opportunity to share about her experiences with Governor Asa Hutchinson and was presented with a Citation honoring her service from the Arkansas House of Representatives. Jamille has also been featured in the School Library Journal as a local hero committed to furthering equity in schools and community through literacy. Jamille has traveled to various schools sharing her effective strategies and was a special guest at the 2018 Texas Library Association state conference. She has a contagious enthusiasm for helping male students be successful in and out of the classroom. With her book, Be Kind. Be Brave. Be a Hero., she is able to spread her message of hope and inspire her readers to develop positive character traits. Jamille Rogers Thomas currently resides in Conway, Arkansas with her husband Korey. She enjoys meeting new people and traveling outside of the U.S. Her favorite color is orange and her favorite food is french fries.
