SGT Crowley is a U.S. Army, Iraq Combat Veteran who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He considers his writing and illustration as a theraputic device. SGT Crowley has a total of sixteen years in service, spanning 25 years from 1986 to 2011! He was Awarded an Army Commendation Medal while serving in 3rd Armor Division, “SPEARHEAD” in 1989. SGT Crowley was also awarded a C.A.B. (Combat Action Badge) while serving with the 216th Military Intelligence Company in Iraq in 2005. During his break in Military Service from 1993 to 2002, SGT Crowley worked as a Hollywood Scenic Artist at Walt Disney Imagineering. In 2011 SGT Crowley won 3rd Place in Maricopa County’s Collegiate Creative Writing Competition for his Non-Fiction Essay, “A Marble in the Sand”, based on his experiences in the Iraq War.
