Author, speaker, and mom of three, Courtney Ellis's books include "Looking Up: A Birder's Guide to Hope Through Grief," "Uncluttered: Free Your Space, Free Your Schedule, Free Your Soul," "Present: the Gift of Being All In, Right Where You Are," "Almost Holy Mama: Life-giving practices for weary parents," and "Happy Now: Let Playfulness Lift Your Load and Renew Your Spirit." Ellis serves alongside her husband as a Presbyterian pastor in southern California. Born in the northern woods of Wisconsin, she graduated from Wheaton College, Loyola University of Chicago, and Princeton Theological Seminary. She is an enthusiastic birder and together she and her family love to read, hike, and bake all sorts of tasty things. Her passions are finding freedom through the practices of playfulness and simplicity, giving and receiving hospitality, and living missionally. She loves candy and hates being told by her dentist that she should eat less candy. Courtney Ellis's words have been featured in Christianity Today, The Glorious Table, Huffington Post, The Mighty, More Than This, Woven, John and Kathy in the Morning, Two Peas in a Podcast, and more. She's a regular columnist for Fathom Mag and hosts The Thing With Feathers Podcast, all about birds and hope, with an array of special guests.
