The Rev. Dr. Robert W. Lee, IV is a pastor and collateral descendant of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. He has served as college professor, activist, and was a religion columnist for the Statesville Record and Landmark from 2011-2019. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University and completed his Master of Theological Studies from Duke University. In 2023 he received his doctorate from Pacific School of Religion. He offered a prayer at the 2021 Inaugural Prayer Service and testified before Congress in 2020. In 2022 he was inducted into the Morehouse College Board of Preachers.
Rob is a sought after preacher and speaker and has preached from such pulpits as the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the American Cathedral in Paris, Boston's Old North Church, Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago, Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington D.C., and Harvard University’s Memorial Church. He has given lectures at St. Michael's College, Union Seminary in New York, Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Arizona State University, The University of California, Davis, and the University of Chicago among others. Lee lives in the Piedmont of North Carolina with his wife Stephanie, his two daughters, their poodle Frank, and golden doodle Maggie. In his spare time he is an avid autograph collector.
