Jasna Tuta is a Slovenian primary school teacher born and raised in Trieste, Italy. She took her first sailing course as an adventure-hungry six-year-old and has been bound to the sea ever since. At 29 she bought a one-way ticket to the other side of the world and gave up the safety of a steady job to chase the horizon. To date, Jasna has published over 100 magazine articles, 94 radio shows, over 100 paid newsletters, countless blog posts and two books. She writes mainly in Slovenian, with occasional forays into Italian and English, but also grabs every opportunity to leave the computer behind and spend time outdoors climbing, windsurfing, SCUBA diving, snowboarding or cycling. While she feels at home wherever there is salt water, her favorite bay remains her home port of Sistiana in Italy, where she teaches sailing, drinks wine with her friends and has countless readings, lectures and book signings.
