Jodie Geddes was born in Jamaica, West Indies. At the age of 6, she migrated to Brooklyn, New York. Jodie's organizing is grounded in her experiences as an immigrant. As a youth, she grappled with the realities of race, gender, nationality, and sexuality. The intersections of identity push Jodie to continue creating safe enough and brave space. Jodie currently serves as the Healing Circles Manager at Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY) and Co-Manager for Coming to the Table. She received her M.A in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University, where she recently co-taught “Truth-telling, Racial Healing, and Restorative Justice” at the Summer Peacebuilding Institute. She lives in Oakland, California.
