Amy Gaunt

Amy is Director of Learning and Development at Voice 21, a charity committed to raising the status of oracy in education. Voice 21 provides professional and leadership development, school improvement and curriculum resources to support young people to find their voices for success in education and in life.

Amy has developed Voice 21’s approach to oracy teaching and learning, building on the best practice developed at School 21, a pioneering state school in Stratford, East London. She has also worked with schools across the UK, supporting them to embed oracy in their pedagogy and curriculum.

Amy is a primary teacher and previously taught at School 21, where she led the development of oracy practice across the primary school. Having studied languages at university, she has always understood the importance of spoken language in teaching and learning and has spent time teaching internationally as well as teaching English as a foreign language.
