Santiago A Flores Was born in San Diego California, but was raised across the border city of Tijuana Baja California Norte, Mexico (a border kid) he started to researched Mexican military aviation , when he was young when he found out how little information was available. Since then he has published over 200 articles on Mexican military aviation in publications in the USA, England, Spain, Mexico and South America in printed and in social media. He has given conferences on the subject in Mexico, United States and Canada. He been recognized for his efforts to expand knowledge of Mexican military aviation history during the 1999 edition of Aeroexpo at Acapulco, Guerrero and in 2015, during the centennial of the Mexican Air Force by his commander for his conferences of the Mexican air force during World War II. He is a US Army veteran ,who has served three tours in the middle east ,the first during Operation Desert storm in 1991 in the liberation of Kuwait and two more deployments in support of coalition operations after 9/11 in Afghanistan .
