Marta Decker

Marta (aka Marty) grew up in South America with her parents and seven siblings. Her parents were super creative people who had to stretch the meager household income in clever ways to solve difficult homemaking problems. Marta learned not only to make the most out of limited supplies, but to create beauty in the process. Marta has been inventing easier ways to do almost anything from the time she could hold a tool. She is the perfect combination of lazy and determined, and will doggedly pursue a challenge until she finds the simplest, fastest, and cheapest way to solve it. Marta now lives on a bit of acreage in the Oregon high desert with her green-thumbed sister. There are always a ton of house and yard projects on the to-do list, and the resulting creative projects end up as blog posts on diymarta.com.
