Andy Campbell is an art historian, critic, curator, and writer living in Long Beach, California. He is the author of Bound Together: Leather, Sex, Archives, and Contemporary Art (Manchester University Press, 2020) and Queer X Design: 50 Years of Signs, Symbols, Banners, Logos, and Graphic Art of LGBTQ (Black Dog and Leventhal, 2019). Along with Amelia Jones, he is the co-editor of Queer Communion: Ron Athey (Intellect, 2020). In his writing and teaching he addresses the visual and material histories of minoritarian communities in the United States, with special consideration given to communal archives and modes of community-centered collecting. He is currently Assistant Professor of Critical Studies at USC's Roski School of Art and Design.
