Geoffrey Durham

关于作者

Geoffrey Durham was a show business professional for thirty-eight years before he ever thought of becoming a writer. A theatre director, actor and magician, he became fascinated by Quakerism in his mid-forties, when he turned up at a Quaker meeting not knowing what to expect and found himself hooked. He is the author of three books about Quakers, each aimed at a different readership. THE SPIRIT OF THE QUAKERS came first: an anthology of great Quaker writing commissioned by the International Sacred Trust as part of its SPIRIT OF... series. The success of that book, published in 2010, led Geoffrey directly to his second, BEING A QUAKER: A GUIDE FOR NEWCOMERS (2011), a comprehensive guide to everyday Quakerism for people already interested and keen to know more. And that in turn pushed him into writing a third, WHAT DO QUAKERS BELIEVE? (2019), aimed at the casual reader who may be looking for an easy-to-read summary of this liberal, approachable and hugely rewarding religious faith.
