Martha Louise is the author of Married to Merlot: A Memoir with a Message of Hope, which was a book finalist in the First Non-Fiction category in the Independent Author Network Book of the Year Awards (2019). After retiring from her career in school psychology, Martha embraced her second occupation of crafting fiction and nonfiction, with much of her writing focusing on emotional wellness and prosocial behavior. In addition to the articles on her website, she writes guest posts for others. She had not planned to uncover the underbelly of her marriage to her husband, but when his post-war stress, depression, and alcoholism led to a tragic event, she knew she had to tell the story. She postponed publishing her first children's book and wrote her memoir, to share what she learned with others who were facing similar circumstances. Her second publication, Adeline in a Gymnastics Jam, is the first manuscript Martha wrote, and it offers a story with valuable life lessons pertaining to conflicts based on real-life situations. This preteen book won a gold medal in the Florida Authors and Publishers Association 2022 President's Book Awards in the category Children: Grades 3 to 7. Martha lives in Florida and enjoys the lazy beaches, long walks, and time spent with family and friends.
