Jeff Lantos studied American History at Brown University. He's designed maps of Revolutionary War battles, written essays for the Los Angeles Times and songs for the NBC TV show, "Parenthood." His historical musical, "Water and Power" played on Broadway as part of the New York Festival of New American Musicals. He lives in Marina del Rey, California and works as a part-time fifth-grade teacher. "Why Longfellow Lied" grew out of a classroom discussion during which a student asked him, "How much of this poem is true?"
