Sharmen Greenaway Author, prolific writer, poet, songwriter and composer is a Specialist Nurse who was born raised and completed her Primary, Secondary and RGN education on the Caribbean Island of Montserrat, West indies. She migrated to London following ongoing volcanic eruptions in Montserrat which resulted in a 'mass evacuation in 1997'. She continued her nursing career in London where she completed the Bachelors and Masters Degree in Health Studies and Nursing. She also continued her career in New York.
Her first book on culture, 'Montserrat in England Dynamics of Culture' was based on the plight of Montserratians following volcanic eruptions and ultimate migration to England. She has also written other books on the Montserrat Culture as her goal is to capture as much of the island's culture as possible due to the dilution by other nationals who now make up more than half of the small population. Some of these books include, 'A travellers Guide to Montserrat Dialect/English and Modern and Traditional Cooking:Where Food meets Culture on Montserrat. Sharmen was a track and field athlete who ran middle distance races competing for the island in Antigua (bronze medal for 1500m), St Kitts (silver medal 400m) and Nevis (gold medal 200m).
