关于作者

Scott Grates is an author, speaker, entrepreneur, business consultant, and most importantly, a husband and father of three. Raised in a lower-middle-class family, Scott was forced to educate himself and build a successful career one mistake at a time. Throughout his life he’s worked his way up to national recognition in four different industries, personally proving his common denominators to success principle true.

An educator at heart, Scott is one of the leading insurance sales coaches in the industry. After a decade of working with thousands of agencies coast to coast, Grates realized one major difference between top producers and those who struggled, confidence. One mantra you’ll consistently hear from Scott is confidence is earned, not learned. In his trainings Grates helps others build self-confidence, silence self-doubt and step out of their comfort zones through a series of small daily wins. This “Win The Day” approach is featured in his first book, Insurance Agency Optimization.

At the start of his oldest son’s senior year of High School, Scott connected all of the dots from his personal and professional experiences to where his son Tyler currently stood at the beginning of his own journey. Once a timid teen, lacking self-confidence, scared to enter the real-world himself, Grates realized how the systems, processes and mindsets he teaches middle-aged adults can change the life trajectory of a child in their mid to late teens.

In his second book, Essential F-Words for Teens, Scott shares valuable real-world lessons that aren’t taught in school but are crucial for his children—and all teens—to know before graduating high school. The book is designed to create awareness of specific crossroads that each child will inevitably face at some point during their journey. As a father of three, Scott also recognizes the struggle for parents to create meaningful conversations with their teens. This book was written just as much for the parents of teens so they can lean into dialogue with their children they may not otherwise have had.
