Dr. Khalilah L. Brown-Dean is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Senior Director for Inclusive Excellence at Quinnipiac University. Previously, she served as the Faculty Co-Coordinator of the Health Policy and Advocacy Concentration for the Frank Netter School of Medicine. Her work on voting rights, elections, mass incarceration, citizenship, and public policy appears in numerous scholarly and public outlets including Politics, Groups, and Identities; The New York Times; and PS: Perspectives on Politics. She is co-author of "50 Years of the Voting Rights Act: The State of Race and Politics" for the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies and has been named one of the Top 25 Women in Higher Education and Beyond by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
