I am an associate professor of Political Science at James Madison University. I specialize in political parties and religion and politics. My immediate areas of interest are presidential nominations and the role of the Christian right in the Republican Party. When I'm not teaching and researching, I like to spend time with my wife and two kids in Charlottesville, VA. I enjoy golfing in the summer and bowling in the winter. Growing up in Philadelphia, I am still a huge, long-suffering Philly sports fan. Our triumphs are intermittent but very much worth the more prevalent agony.
