An epic multigenerational series filled with courageous men, dynamic women, international intrigue, and flavored with a touch of romance and unforgettable characters. You will relive historical moments and feel like you are actually there as you read David Carney's Rattle Snake Cove Series.
From a reader:
"I enjoy an easy-to-read fictional story that has well researched history, drama, and includes places and events that I’ve had some familiarity with. David Carney has given me that pleasure. David Carney's "Rattle Snake Cove Series" of six novels has those features, and not only those, but romance, risk-taking, espionage, and compassion. There are thrilling adventures in fascinating places where a nation’s people of cultural and generational changes are intimately observed in the time span of the series. Following a young boy through his bold adventurous journeys the reader learns how he becomes a significant leader full of patriotism, a man of compassion and dedication for service to country and, all the while, remains connected and loyal to his friends in countries abroad. Each challenging mission brought benefit to others and eventually passed on his legacy to his children for their future of also doing good. In six volumes we see the maturing of a unique man possessing faith and determination overcome his past by doing good, that is, seemingly somewhat miraculous. Through his lifetime and relationships, he builds upon passion and energy earning the trust and admiration of friends and national leaders. I love the way the characters of the series grow old with grace and goodwill through the family generations of the chronicle. Anticipation of the outcomes are surprisingly good and never disappointing. Each book in the series leaves the reader predicting if what happens next will be revealed or is a twist that’s turned. Great writing, David and, wife, Judy. Thanks for the series."

David R. Carney retired from the Alabama National Guard and the U.S. Army as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer and is also a retired banker. He has been appointed to the position of Honorary Colonel by the Governor of Alabama. He spent seven years in Europe, and has served in the Pentagon, Oklahoma, Thailand, Japan, Kuwait, Italy, Germany, Hungary, and Bosnia. He has traveled to over thirty countries around the world. As a young man, while a Boy Scout, he became very familiar with the Arizona desert.
Carney is able to draw on his rich background of diverse international experiences to write his books. Raised in a dysfunctional family and living in many homes across the nation while attending many schools, he became a high school dropout who later attended eight years of college and university earning four degrees, all with highest honors, including an MBA from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Carney well understands the plight of many young people who may be searching for a home.
Carney has been very instrumental in the military veteran's community, often speaking at events as well as organizing events for deployed service members and their families. He has been recognized by the U.S. Army and also by his community for his many military and veteran activities.
David and his wife, Judith, have recently been recognized as the Volunteer Army Family of the Year for 2019 by the local Association of the United States Army Chapter and the 3rd Region chapter which consists of nine states and territories.
He lives in the small town of New Market, Alabama with his wife, Judith, and their two cats. Judith is also a published author. They are very active in their church.
Judith Carney is the granddaughter of a Methodist minister, born to his second oldest daughter, and a WWII U.S. Army Soldier.
Both her mother and father were from large families with which Judith had much loving interaction. Many of her Uncles and one Aunt were also WWII veterans, and some in Korea and Vietnam.
Judith found later that her military heritage went all the way back to the Revolutionary War. Many ancestors fought in the Civil War and subsequent wars.
This large and varied family gave her much to entertain and feed her imagination. Most of her writing is based on someone in her family, using historic research of the era and events and most books concern one of the wars, something she never dreamed she would write about, but she found the emotions and drama of war time seemed to draw her to document it.
Judith is a retired Registered Nurse, who was introduced to her husband, David, by a fellow nurse.
She and David found they had everything in common and soon fell in love and married.
David also had a military background and was in The National Guard when they married. After both retired, they began a wonderful partnership of writing, editing, family, and travel (And caring for their two cats).
