Sonya Montenegro

Sonya Montenegro was born in the Chicago area. Although she'll always hold a special place in her heart for the buzzing industrial humanity of the Big City, her recent path has meandered further and further into the Rural, and thus is especially interested in beekeeping, gardening and spending time with animals big and small. She now lives in Portland, OR and runs an art house collaboration called The Far Woods with her sister, Nina. Most of her work is pen & ink, gouache, collage and textiles. She has always loved to sew and is especially drawn to intuitive quilting.
