Dr. Cheryl Fisher is a licensed clinical professional counselor in private practice with over 25 years of working with children and families in the areas of grief and loss, trauma, domestic violence, and life transitions. She is a Certified Trauma Specialist and trained in Jungian play therapy. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Fisher is the director of an online MA in Clinical Counseling program with Alliant International University where she teaches counselors-in-training. Her research interests include the role of spirituality, nature and mindfulness in overall wellness. She is accompanied in her therapy practice by a Golden Doodle, Max and a Parti-Poodle, Elsa.
Dr. Fisher is fascinated by the restorative properties of engaging in nature and speaks extensively about the need for more green space in schools, clinics and communities.
A self proclaimed 'suburban backyard forager', Dr. Fisher spends as much time as she can outdoors tending her gardens, feeding the birds, hosting the bees, kayaking rivers, biking trails and hiking with her co-therapists when they are 'off duty'.
