Hi all, Welcome to MrandMsCooking.com—a website created by a community of cooking enthusiasts with the goal of providing books for novice cooks featuring the best recipes, at the most affordable prices, and valuable gifts. During my 25 years’ experience in writing and cooking, the United States always has an active and dynamic culinary scene. The American food culture in today’s time has become more exciting and interesting. Food magazines, cookbooks and cooking articles have become famous among the avid readers. We are more inclined to buy fresher, tasty and various food items in supermarkets. Buying local produce from the farmers’ markets has become widespread and this is an exciting change. Finally, free-range chickens, fragrant fresh herbs, stone ground flours and meals, and extra virgin olive oils have always been our choice as the best ingredients available. When creating this American cookbook series, I traveled to the Caribbean, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North Africa to explore their food cultures. I am very much interested in the rising popularity of the so-called exotic cuisines. The curiosity of the Americans was really something worth supporting as they search outside the country for inspiration and sustenance. Travelling the world has been an awesome experience, trying new dishes and gathering ideas, and taking all these back home to try in my own kitchen. Then a newfound passion for local American food begin to grow within me after I finished writing the American cookbook series. I was in the Pacific Northwest starting my book tour when I felt a spark burning inside me. I don’t know if it was the perfectly grilled Copper River salmon (season’s first), paired with a flowery and fruity Oregon Pinot Noir had anything to do with it or not. Or maybe the colorful Pacific oysters in Seattle’s Pike Place market did it. Or it could be at Seattle’s Dahlia Lounge where it’s my first experience ever to sample a Kasu cod that has been caramelized. It’s hard to know what it is, but that inspired me to write a U.S. cookbook. The book you are holding is “Hello! 123 New York City Recipes”. I was excited to go home, but my interest for traveling to find more cooking ideas grew stronger. If only I had more trips, I would love to visit every place’s fine-dining restaurants, inns, diners and luncheonettes. I would love to join the celebration of harvests (grains, fish, fruits and veggies) at local festivals and county fairs. And while doing these, hope I could meet some talented yet unknown home cooks and taste their home-cooked food. I had quite an adventure throughout the next three years, my research took me from Maine to the Florida Panhandle, from Chesapeake Bay crab cakes to crab Louis on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, where I had a buffalo dish in South Dakota, and wild boar in Texas hill country. I have gone fishing in the icy Gulf of Alaska and finally visited the pineapple groves in Hawaii. I enjoyed all of these while looking for the oldest and newest, boldest, most authentic and certainly the best American dishes. For different types of American recipes, you can find more hear: • Cajun And Creole • Jewish • Us Recipes By State • ... You have reached the end of the article.
