Matthew J. Collins

Matt Collins is an experienced medical device professional, dad, husband, and Type 1 diabetic. Collins has experienced success controlling his blood sugars via the methods outlined in T1D Pro; his first non-fiction. His last 4 A1Cs were 5.2%, 5.4%, 5.3%, and 5.2% respectively...something he is extremely proud of. Collins currently lives in Miami, Florida with his wife, baby, and dog where he enjoys competitive daily tennis matches. The thirty-six years old is married to the love of his life, Barbara—a veterinarian from Santiago, Chile. They spend most of their days in Miami, Florida with their—at the time of writing, in mid-2019—one-year-old daughter, Martina, and dog, Bellota. For vacation, Collins typically packs up the family (poodle and all) and flies to wherever he's scouted the year before. His most recent trip was to Tokyo, Japan during cherry blossom season (he highly recommends this). For work, Collins travels from Miami to (name just about any location in Latin America) about twice per month. Overall, life is good—despite T1D.
