Capt John C Wright

Capt. John C Wright - (born 1948) is an early pioneer and promoter of cruising America's Great Loop. His hometown is Terrell, Texas. He graduated from High School and served in the US Army as a Helicopter Pilot. His first voyage around the Great Loop was in 1972, and to date, has made the voyage ten times over the past 50 years with his last four with his adult son, John Jr. Together, they have made this voyage in both sail and power boats ranging in size from 44' to 26'. Currently they both are cruising in a 26' C-Dory and love it. Capt. John's "The Looper's Companion Guide" has been the #1 Best-Selling Great Loop Book on the Market since 2018. Now in it's 3rd Edition, it has been revised, edited and updated for 2024.
