Hello, and thank you for your interest in my books.
I have always been captivated by beautifully illustrated books that explore natural history, landscapes, and art history. My passions include forests and trees, landscape gardens, travelogues, and the lives and works of great explorers and their artistic companions—particularly the expedition illustrators of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Much of my inspiration comes from being immersed in nature. I love to explore forests and landscapes, sketching and studying their natural history firsthand. My preferred tools for drawing and painting are fountain pens, gel pens, wax crayons, colored pencils, and oil pastels.
The landscapes I know intimately - those I’ve had the chance to wander through and study with pen and sketchbook over many years - have been a constant source of creative energy. The act of drawing, painting, and writing in nature is more than a pastime for me; it’s a life-affirming and indispensable source of strength.
