Lauren Feldman is Associate Professor of Journalism and Media Studies in the School of Communication & Information at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. She studies how news, entertainment, and other media affect public knowledge, opinion, and behavior related to political and environmental issues, especially climate change. Her research has been published in more than thirty peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as in several edited volumes, and has been widely covered in major media outlets. A Comedian and an Activist Walk into a Bar: The Serious Role of Comedy in Social Change (University of California Press, 2020) is her first book. She holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School for Communication.
