Scott Turner

Scott Turner is a Southern California native who has provided in-depth, richly detailed descriptions covering hundreds of trails across the western United States. In 2017, he released his first title as co-author, a revision of Jerry Schad's "Hiking Bible," Afoot and Afield in San Diego County. Since then, Scott has produced three brand new titles with Mountaineers Books as part of their Hike the Parks series covering Joshua Tree National Park, Zion & Bryce Canyon National Park, and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park. When he's not hiking or writing guides, Scott spends his time in Carlsbad with his wife, Kelly, and his son, Hank. Scott also works as a Marriage and Family Therapist treating people of all age ranges for a variety of mental health issues.
