Sarah Birdsall

Originally from upstate New York, Sarah Birdsall moved to Alaska at a young age and spent the remainder of her childhood in remote parts of the state. An award winning journalist and the award-winning author of The Red Mitten (McRoy & Blackburn, 2006), she teaches creative writing at the Matanuska Susitna College branch of the University of Alaska and lives in her hometown of Talkeetna, AK. She is also the author of Wild Rivers, Wild Rose (University of Alaska Press, 2020), The Moonflower Route (McRoy & Blackburn, 2017), Ghosts of Talkeetna (Northern Nights Press, 2013) and the young adult Kindle book, The Moon and the Night (under the pseudonym Sarah Somebody, Northern Nights Press, 2013).
