Erin Galyean graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1998 with a BA in English. Her love of writing is why she chose English as her major. For years, she dreamt of being a published author. After graduating from college, Erin started working as a pharmaceutical sales rep. As her career progressed, she discovered that she had a passion for training. That passion has grown into a deep love for leading and inspiring other professionals to develop in their own career. She feels lucky that she is paid to do what she loves. In 2017, Erin's best friend and sister was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive lung disease. During this time, she and her family advocated for her both in and out of the hospital. As her sister's condition worsened, Erin realized that her knowledge and experience as a pharmaceutical sales trainer gave her a different perspective than most family members who care for a sick loved one. In October of 2018. Erin and her family were heartbroken when their beloved sister and daughter passed way. Soon after her sister's passing, Erin decided that her vision in life was to share her story and learnings to help others who find themselves in a similar situation. The combination of her passions and life-altering experiences led Erin to write her first book: Badass Advocate. She hopes the lessons she learned will help caregivers to get their loved ones the care they deserve. If you are interested, check out her website www.badassadvocate.com for additional resources.
