Qiao Li

Dr. Qiao (Joe) Li teaches the theory and practice of filmmaking at the School of Arts & Creative Industries of Edinburgh Napier University, and supervises PhD in film. He is Visiting Professor to Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, appointed Researcher to Qingdao Film Academy, and the editor of the UNESCO research book project on global film industry. He has a Ph.D. from Film Studies of University of Gloucestershire, with expertise in Chinese language cinemas. He is a film festival jury member, and the co-editor of 3 books: "Migration & Memory: Arts and Cinemas of the Chinese Diaspora" (MSHP, 2019), "Development of Global Film Industry: Industrial Competition and Cooperation in the Context of Globalization" (Routledge, 2020), and "The Transformation in Global Film Production, Distribution and Consumption in the Post-Pandemic Era" (Routledge, forthcoming). He is also a digital filmmaker with award-winning short films.
