Shadan Kapri (pronounced Shadawn Capri) is an Attorney, Author, and Activist known for her work on social justice and environmental issues. She has written several books, including “Discovering Your Passion: The Path to Your Authentic Life” and “The Red Movement: Social and Environmental Justice in the 21st Century.” Her work aims to inspire positive social change by empowering individuals and raising awareness about critical social problems facing the world today such as human trafficking, environmental degradation, and their intersection with corporate greed around the world. She was a U.S. Fulbright Scholar on human rights and human trafficking which led to her bestselling book, “The Red Movement.” The Red Movement book has been called a ‘beacon of light’ and a ‘must-read’ for its multi-disciplinary approach to fighting modern-day injustices through legal advocacy, public awareness, and collective action. Ms. Kapri founded Kapri Law & Consulting, a boutique international law firm that focuses on women and children’s rights, family law, and international human rights. She has been recognized on the local, national, and international levels for her commitment to issues impacting women, children, and the most vulnerable. She was recognized nationally when she received the Daily Point of Light Award. This award was created by a former U.S. President to recognize individuals and organizations dedicated to public service. She has also been recognized by the United Nations when her team received the United Nations Development Programme Online Team of the Year Award in 2007. She has advanced degrees in international relations, law, and journalism. She is an alumnus of the nationally renowned Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and graduated magna cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law as a Thomas More Scholar. She has been included in the Top 100 National Advocates and received two “Attorney of the Year” Awards from her local bar association.
