Tony Rican

TONY RICAN is the creator of “Average Guy Gourmet,” a YouTube cooking channel with almost 30,000 subscribers and over 40,000 Facebook followers, built around simple and fun recipes created by an average dad. With his family originally from Santurce, Puerto Rico, Tony was the first generation born off of the island after his father moved to Chicago. He spent 15 years on the road as a professional wrestler and has since settled down to become a husband and a father. His greatest accomplishment—becoming a dad—is what made him want to reconnect with his heritage and explore Puerto Rican culture through its cuisine, with his father and children. He now uses the theatrics and production he learned from pro wrestling, along with simple meals taught to him by his father, to help others learn to cook.
