Julie P. Jones

Dr. Julie Jones is an Associate Professor in Converse University’s Department of Social Sciences. She maintains an active research agenda with interests ranging from curriculum and pedagogy to urban planning to wellness, always with a mix of creativity and play. She is also the outreach coordinator for Hub City Writer’s Project, connecting the press initiatives to her local community. Recent projects include connecting authors with public schools, organizing artwork promoting literacy in local parking garages, and planning literacy-based fairs for community non-profits. Dr. Jones published her first book,The Playful Classroom in June 2020. Her second book, The Playful Life, was published in October 2022. Her third book, a textbook titled Introduction to Education: Cultivating Curiosity and Play in the Era of AI, is under contract with Kendall Hunt Publishing.
