Greg Fisher is the Larry and Barbara Sharpf Professor of Entrepreneurship and is an Associate Professor in the Management and Entrepreneurship Department at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Gordon Institute of Business Science in South Africa and the Algebra International Graduate Business School in Croatia. He holds a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and Strategy from the University of Washington in Seattle and an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science in Johannesburg. Greg teaches in the areas of strategy and entrepreneurship and he has won numerous teaching awards at Indiana University, the University of Washington and the Gordon Institute of Business Science. In 2014 he was named on the list of the of the “40 Most Outstanding B-School Profs under 40” and in 2016 he was named among the “Favorite Business School Professor Teaching MBAs” by Poets and Quants website. Greg’s current research examines issues related to strategy and resourcefulness in entrepreneurial firms. His research has been published in top-tier management and entrepreneurship journals including the Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and The Journal of Management Studies. Greg is the editor-in-chief of Business Horizons and serves as an associate editor for the Academy of Management Review. He also served as a field editor for the Journal of Business Venturing from 2017- 2020. In 2018 he was awarded the Emerging Scholar Award from the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management and he has recently co-authored a book published by Oxford University Press entitled Strategy in 3D: Essential Tools to Diagnose, Decide and Deliver. Prior to a career in academia, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in South Africa and worked as an auditor and then a senior manager of learning and development for Deloitte Southern Africa before founding and building a training solutions venture called Learninglab. Greg was an expert contributor to Entrepreneur Magazine from 2006 to 2012. He contributed over 60 feature articles for the publication on the topics related to strategy, business planning, innovation, venture creation, and business management. In his spare time Greg enjoys spending time with his family and he is a keen endurance athlete having completed more than 50 marathons, 20 ultra marathons, multiple Ironman triathlons and many multiday cycling events.
