Margot Raggett MBE* is a British wildlife photographer, who fell in love with photographing African wildlife in her thirties. She gave up a lucrative career in PR to pursue that passion but the direction of her life was to take another turn. In late 2014, she saw a newly poached elephant while in Kenya and was so enraged, she resolved to do something to raise awareness of poaching and also to raise funds to protect the wildlife she loved. She approached fellow wildlife photographers to collaborate on a book on elephants and Remembering Elephants was born. Such was the response to the book that it became a series, and now there are eight published books so far - Remembering Elephants, Remembering Rhinos, Remembering Great Apes, Remembering Lions, Remembering Cheetahs, Remembering African Wild Dogs, Remembering Bears and Remembering Leopards. All books are collaborations between many of the world's best wildlife photographers and are funded using crowd-funding. So far the series has raised more than 1.125m GBP / 1.45m USD for conservation since the first book was published in 2016 and it has won the support of celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Russell Crowe, Chris Martin and Pierce Brosnan. *Margot was awarded an MBE for services to international wildlife conservation in the June 2023 King's Birthday Honours List
