Ross Patten was the city of Covington, Kentucky’s assistant director of economic development, where he focused on business attraction, incentives, real estate development, business district revitalization, and entrepreneurism.

His project list included corporate relocations, large multifamily developments, infrastructure improvements, policy development, and countless small business and neighborhood enhancement projects. He was recognized nationally as an Economic Development 40 Under 40 awardee by DCI in 2021, elected as the chair of the Advisory Board for Kentucky’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and awarded Covington City Hall Employee of the Year. Two of his strategic initiatives won top awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and the American Planning Association (APA). He previously worked for the City of Cincinnati and represented the "Uptown" neighborhoods, the second largest employment hub in the Greater Cincinnati MSA.

Ross now considers himself an early retiree but continues to blog about economic development and stays very busy restoring his rental units to their former glory. He lives in Covington.
